Why devotees choose Janana Nakshatra Shanti
Jyotisha traditionally recommends a shanti when a child is born in certain nakshatras or at their junctions (gandanta), such as Ashwini, Ashlesha, Magha, Jyeshtha, Moola or Revati. The ritual is performed with prayers for the child's wellbeing and the harmony of the family, so parents can welcome their baby with peace of mind.
When it is performed
It is usually performed when the moon returns to the same birth nakshatra, about twenty-seven days after birth, or on a day the priest recommends.
What the ceremony involves
The priest performs Ganapathi pooja and punyahavachanam, worships the presiding deity of the birth nakshatra, and conducts a nakshatra shanti homam with the prescribed mantras. Kalasha water is sprinkled over the parents and baby, and the family offers dana as advised.
Formats and languages
Janana Nakshatra Shanti can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Kannada and Telugu traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Tell us the occasion, location and dates that suit your family. We match a priest who follows your tradition, confirm timings and materials, and send a written plan with the final price. You decide only when everything is clear.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Every ceremony is offered as an act of devotion. Results in health, wealth, relationships or legal matters cannot be promised, and professional advice should always be sought where it is needed.
