Why devotees choose Kadali Vivaham
When astrologers find Kuja (Mangal) dosha or other afflictions to the house of marriage in a woman's horoscope, tradition sometimes recommends Kadali Vivaham. A symbolic marriage to the banana plant, a sacred and auspicious tree, is performed to absorb the dosha, so that the actual marriage may proceed harmoniously.
When it is performed
It is performed before the wedding, on an auspicious day chosen by the priest, often a Tuesday or Friday.
What the ceremony involves
A banana plant is worshipped as a form of Vishnu. After Ganapathi pooja and a sankalpa, the priest conducts a short symbolic wedding ritual between the woman and the plant, followed by prayers and homam, and the plant is later cut and honoured according to tradition. Procedures vary by family.
Formats and languages
Kadali Vivaham can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Telugu tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
