Why devotees choose Kumbha Vivaham
For horoscopes with Kuja dosha or certain afflictions to the seventh house, tradition offers Kumbha Vivaham as a remedy. The kumbha, invoked as Lord Vishnu, becomes the first symbolic husband, and the dosha is believed to be absorbed, so that the real marriage can be harmonious.
When it is performed
It is performed before the wedding, at a muhurtham chosen by the priest, sometimes on the same day as other pre-wedding rituals.
What the ceremony involves
A pot filled with water is decorated and worshipped as Vishnu. After Ganapathi pooja and a sankalpa, a symbolic wedding is conducted between the woman and the kumbha, followed by prayers. The pot is later immersed or broken according to tradition, and the family offers dana.
Formats and languages
Kumbha Vivaham can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Telugu tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Send an enquiry with your city, preferred dates and language. A coordinator confirms a suitable priest, the muhurta, the samagri list, what is included and the final price. You approve the plan before any payment is requested.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
