Why devotees choose Vishwakarma Puja

Lord Vishwakarma is the divine architect who built Dwarka, Indraprastha and the weapons of the gods. Engineers, artisans, mechanics, factory owners and workers honour him to give thanks for their skills and tools and to pray for safety, efficiency and prosperity in their work.

When it is performed

It is usually celebrated on Kanya Sankranti, around 17 September, and in some regions also on the day after Diwali.

What the ceremony involves

Machines, tools and vehicles are cleaned and decorated. The pandit performs Ganesh puja and the puja of Lord Vishwakarma, followed by the worship of each machine and tool with kumkum, flowers and a swastik, then havan and aarti. Work usually pauses for the rest of the day.

Formats and languages

Vishwakarma Puja can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi and Marathi traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.

Can this pooja be done online?

For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.

Is samagri included?

The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
