Why devotees choose Vishkumbha Yog Shanti
The panchang recognises twenty-seven yogas formed by the combined positions of the Sun and Moon. Birth during certain yogas, including Vishkumbha, is traditionally followed by a shanti, with prayers for the child's wellbeing and the family's harmony.
When it is performed
It is usually performed within a few weeks of birth, on a day the purohit recommends, often when the same yog recurs.
What the ceremony involves
The purohit performs Ganpati puja and Punyahvachan, worships the deity associated with the yog, and conducts a shanti havan with the prescribed mantras. Sanctified water is sprinkled over the parents and baby, and dana is offered.
Formats and languages
Vishkumbha Yog Shanti can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Marathi tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Tell us the occasion, location and dates that suit your family. We match a priest who follows your tradition, confirm timings and materials, and send a written plan with the final price. You decide only when everything is clear.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Every ceremony is offered as an act of devotion. Results in health, wealth, relationships or legal matters cannot be promised, and professional advice should always be sought where it is needed.
