Why devotees choose Vasakal Pooja

The main entrance is considered the gateway through which Goddess Lakshmi enters a home. In Tamil and Kannada traditions the main door frame (nilai) is installed during construction with a pooja, so the home is blessed long before the family moves in.

When it is performed

It is performed during construction when the door frame is ready to be fixed, at a muhurta chosen from the owner's birth star.

What the ceremony involves

The priest performs Ganapathi pooja and a sankalpa and worships the door frame with turmeric, kumkum and flowers. Navaratnas, coins or navadhanyam are placed beneath it, and Vastu and Lakshmi prayers are offered as the frame is set in place. A coconut is broken and aarti performed.

Formats and languages

Vasakal Pooja (Nilai Vasal Pooja) can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Kannada and Tamil traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.

Send an enquiry with your city, preferred dates and language. A coordinator confirms a suitable priest, the muhurta, the samagri list, what is included and the final price. You approve the plan before any payment is requested.

Can this pooja be done online?

For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.

Is samagri included?

The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
