When it is performed

It is performed during construction when the main door frame is ready to be fixed, at a muhurtham based on the owner's janma nakshatram.

What the ceremony involves

After Ganapathi pooja and a sankalpa, the frame is anointed with turmeric and kumkum and decorated with mango leaves. Navaratnas, coins and navadhanyalu are placed beneath the threshold, and Vastu and Lakshmi prayers are offered as it is installed. A coconut is broken and aarti performed.

Vasakal Pooja/Dwarabandhanam can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Telugu tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.

Can this pooja be done online?

Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.

Is samagri included?

The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
