Why devotees choose Surya Puja
Surya Dev is the visible god who sustains all life, and in Jyotish he represents the soul, vitality and authority. Devotees perform Surya Puja to give thanks, strengthen a weak Sun in the kundli and seek energy, clarity and recognition. The Aditya Hridayam, taught to Lord Ram by sage Agastya, is a favourite prayer.
When it is performed
Sundays at sunrise, Ratha Saptami, Makar Sankranti and Chhath are especially auspicious.
What the ceremony involves
At sunrise, the pandit guides the offering of arghya (water with red flowers, rice and kumkum from a copper vessel) to the Sun, followed by Surya puja, the recitation of the Aditya Hridayam and the Surya mantra. A havan with aak (arka) samidha may follow.
Formats and languages
Surya Puja can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi and Marathi traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
