Srardham, performed with shraddha (faith and devotion), is one of the most important duties in Hindu family life. When it is performed

It is performed every year on the tithi of the ancestor's passing, as per the lunar calendar, and the priest helps calculate the correct date.

What the ceremony involves

The full srardham includes sankalpa, homam, the invitation and honouring of Brahmins who represent the pitrus and Vishvedevas, pinda pradanam, tarpanam and a traditional meal, followed by dakshina and prayers. Preparations and food restrictions are explained in advance.

Formats and languages

Srardham can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Tamil tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.

Can this pooja be done online?

For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.

Is samagri included?

The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
