Why devotees choose Solah Somvar Udyapan

The Solah Somvar vrat, sixteen Monday fasts to Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati, is observed by devotees, especially young women, praying for a good life partner, marital harmony or the fulfilment of a heartfelt wish. The udyapan on the seventeenth Monday completes the vow with gratitude.

When it is performed

It is performed on the Monday after the sixteenth fast, often in the month of Shravan or on an auspicious Monday chosen by the pandit.

What the ceremony involves

The pandit performs Ganesh puja and the puja of Shiv-Parvati with bel patra, white flowers and abhishek. The Solah Somvar vrat katha is read, a havan is performed, and churma made of wheat, ghee and jaggery is offered and shared. Married couples or Brahmins are offered food and dakshina.

Formats and languages

Solah Somvar Udyapan can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.

How booking works

Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.

Questions families ask

Can this pooja be done online?

For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.

Is samagri included?

The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
