It is performed in the eighty-first year, on an auspicious day near the birth star in the birth month, with the muhurta set by the priest.

What the ceremony involves

Kalashas representing the deities are installed and worshipped, followed by homams such as Ayushya, Mrityunjaya and Navagraha homam. The couple is bathed with the sanctified kalasha water, exchanges garlands and renews their vows, and children and grandchildren seek their blessings.
