Why devotees choose Karna Vedha
Karna Vedha is one of the traditional samskaras of childhood. Ear piercing is performed with prayers for the child's wellbeing and is treated as an occasion for the whole family. In many South Indian families it is combined with a visit to the family deity or the first tonsure.
When it is performed
It is commonly done in infancy or early childhood, on a day chosen from the child's birth star and an auspicious muhurta. Some families perform it on the first birthday or during a temple visit.
What the ceremony involves
The priest performs Ganapati pooja and a sankalpa, followed by worship of the family deity. The piercing is done by a trained person using clean, sterile equipment, and the child receives blessings and small gifts from elders. Ask about hygiene arrangements when you plan.
Formats and languages
Karna Vedha (Ear Piercing) can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Tamil and Telugu traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Every ceremony is offered as an act of devotion. Results in health, wealth, relationships or legal matters cannot be promised, and professional advice should always be sought where it is needed.
