Why devotees choose Samaradhanai Pooja
Feeding and honouring learned people and elders is considered one of the highest forms of dana (giving). Tamil families perform Samaradhanai after returning from pilgrimages such as Kashi or Rameswaram, on completing a vow, or as part of milestone celebrations, as an expression of gratitude and a way of sharing blessings.
When it is performed
It is usually held after a pilgrimage, on the completion of a vratam, on a family milestone or on a date suggested by the priest.
What the ceremony involves
The priest performs a short pooja and sankalpa, invited Brahmins or elders are welcomed and honoured with a traditional meal served on banana leaves, and they receive dakshina, vastram (cloth) and thamboolam. They bless the family before leaving.
Formats and languages
Samaradhanai Pooja can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Tamil tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Tell us the occasion, location and dates that suit your family. We match a priest who follows your tradition, confirm timings and materials, and send a written plan with the final price. You decide only when everything is clear.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
