Why devotees choose Rudrabhishek Puja
Lord Shiva is especially pleased by abhishek. In Rudrabhishek, the Shivling is bathed with sacred substances while the Rudrashtadhyayi from the Shukla Yajurveda is chanted. Devotees perform it for peace, protection, the fulfilment of righteous wishes and Shiva's grace, often in the holy month of Shravan.
When it is performed
Shravan Somvar, Maha Shivratri, Pradosh, Mondays and Masik Shivratri are especially auspicious.
What the ceremony involves
After Ganesh puja and a sankalp, the Shivling is bathed in sequence with water, milk, curd, ghee, honey, sugarcane juice, Gangajal and panchamrit while the Rudrashtadhyayi is chanted. Bel patra, dhatura, bhasma and white flowers are offered, and the puja ends with aarti.
Formats and languages
Rudrabhishek Puja can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi and Marathi traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Send an enquiry with your city, preferred dates and language. A coordinator confirms a suitable priest, the muhurta, the samagri list, what is included and the final price. You approve the plan before any payment is requested.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
