Why devotees choose Punsavan Sanskar
Punsavan is the second of the sixteen sanskars and is performed early in pregnancy. Today it is celebrated as a blessing for the mother and child, an occasion for the family to show support and pray for a healthy pregnancy and a safe delivery.
When it is performed
It is traditionally performed in the second or third month of pregnancy, on an auspicious day chosen from the panchang.
What the ceremony involves
The pandit performs Ganesh puja and a sankalp for mother and child, followed by Vedic mantras and a short havan. Elders bless the couple, and the ceremony is kept gentle and comfortable for the mother.
Formats and languages
Punsavan Sanskar can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Tell us the occasion, location and dates that suit your family. We match a priest who follows your tradition, confirm timings and materials, and send a written plan with the final price. You decide only when everything is clear.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
