Why devotees choose Pandiri Rata Pooja
In Telugu families, Pandiri Rata marks the start of wedding preparations at the bride's and groom's homes. A pole, often from a fresh green branch, is worshipped and erected as the first post of the marriage pandiri, with prayers that every preparation that follows goes smoothly.
When it is performed
It is performed a few days before the wedding, at a muhurtham fixed by the priest, usually at both families' homes.
What the ceremony involves
After Ganapathi pooja, the pole is anointed with turmeric and kumkum, tied with mango leaves and flowers, and installed with navadhanyalu at its base. Married women perform aarti and sing traditional songs, and the family shares sweets. In many homes the pellikoduku or pellikuthuru rituals follow.
Formats and languages
Pandiri Rata Pooja can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Telugu tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Send an enquiry with your city, preferred dates and language. A coordinator confirms a suitable priest, the muhurta, the samagri list, what is included and the final price. You approve the plan before any payment is requested.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
