Why devotees choose Pandakkal Pooja
In Tamil families, the pandakkal muhurtham formally opens the wedding festivities. The first post of the marriage pandal is decorated and erected with prayers to Ganapati and the family deity, so the preparations that follow proceed smoothly and the home is filled with auspiciousness.
When it is performed
It is held a few days before the wedding, at a muhurta fixed by the priest, at the bride's or groom's home.
What the ceremony involves
After Ganapati pooja, the bamboo or wooden pole is anointed with turmeric and kumkum and decorated with mango leaves and flowers. Navadhanyam (nine grains) and a coin are placed at its base, and the pole is erected while elders offer prayers. The family then shares sweets and blessings.
Formats and languages
Pandakkal Pooja can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Tamil tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Send an enquiry with your city, preferred dates and language. A coordinator confirms a suitable priest, the muhurta, the samagri list, what is included and the final price. You approve the plan before any payment is requested.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Every ceremony is offered as an act of devotion. Results in health, wealth, relationships or legal matters cannot be promised, and professional advice should always be sought where it is needed.
