Why devotees choose Mahalaxmi Puja
Goddess Mahalaxmi is the supreme form of Lakshmi, the source of prosperity and auspiciousness. In Maharashtra she is revered at the Kolhapur Mahalaxmi temple, and across North India she is worshipped on Fridays and festivals. Families and businesses perform this puja to invite abundance and peace.
When it is performed
Fridays, Diwali, Sharad Purnima (Kojagiri), Dhanteras and Akshaya Tritiya are especially auspicious.
What the ceremony involves
After Ganesh puja and a sankalp, Mahalaxmi is invoked in a kalash or idol. The pandit performs shodashopachar puja with Shri Suktam and Lakshmi Ashtottar, kamal gatta (lotus seeds) and kumkum are offered, and the puja ends with aarti and prasad.
Formats and languages
Mahalaxmi Puja can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi and Marathi traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Tell us the occasion, location and dates that suit your family. We match a priest who follows your tradition, confirm timings and materials, and send a written plan with the final price. You decide only when everything is clear.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
