Why devotees choose Janamdin/Birthday Puja
A birthday puja turns a celebration into a moment of gratitude. Families worship Lord Ganesh, the family deity and the nine grahas, often with an Ayush havan, praying for the person's health and long life. It is especially popular for children's first birthdays and milestone birthdays of elders.
When it is performed
It is often performed on the tithi birthday (Hindu calendar) or the date of birth, in the morning.
What the ceremony involves
The pandit performs Ganesh puja, Navgraha puja and a sankalp in the person's name, followed by an Ayush or Mrityunjaya havan. Seven chiranjeevis are remembered in some traditions, and the person receives tilak, aarti and blessings from elders.
Formats and languages
Janamdin/Birthday Puja can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi and Marathi traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Tell us the occasion, location and dates that suit your family. We match a priest who follows your tradition, confirm timings and materials, and send a written plan with the final price. You decide only when everything is clear.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
