Why devotees choose Haldi Ceremony
The Haldi (or Ubtan) ceremony is one of the most colourful pre-wedding traditions. Turmeric is considered auspicious and purifying, and its application blesses the bride or groom before the wedding. Starting with a Ganesh puja invites blessings for the festivities ahead.
When it is performed
It is held a day or two before the wedding, or on the wedding morning, at a time suggested by the pandit.
What the ceremony involves
The pandit performs Ganesh puja and a sankalp and prepares the haldi paste with prayers. Elders apply it first, followed by family and friends, with songs and celebration. In some families the haldi is also applied to the kalash and pandal posts.
Formats and languages
Haldi Ceremony can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Send an enquiry with your city, preferred dates and language. A coordinator confirms a suitable priest, the muhurta, the samagri list, what is included and the final price. You approve the plan before any payment is requested.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
