Why devotees choose Griha Pravesh Puja
Griha Pravesh is the auspicious first entry into a new home. North Indian and Marathi families honour Lord Ganesh, Vastu Purush and the nine grahas, so the house becomes a home filled with peace, health and prosperity. It is also a celebration shared with family and friends.
When it is performed
It is held on a shubh muhurat, often avoiding kharmas, Pitru Paksha and Chaturmas, and preferably in the morning.
What the ceremony involves
The puja usually includes Ganesh puja, Punyahvachan, Vastu Shanti, Navgraha puja and havan. The woman of the house enters first carrying a kalash, many families boil milk until it overflows in the new kitchen, and the day ends with aarti, prasad and often a Satyanarayan katha.
Formats and languages
Griha Pravesh Puja can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi and Marathi traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Tell us the occasion, location and dates that suit your family. We match a priest who follows your tradition, confirm timings and materials, and send a written plan with the final price. You decide only when everything is clear.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
