Why devotees choose this ritual
The Ganpati Atharvashirsha is an Upanishad that reveres Lord Ganesh as the supreme reality. Chanting it while performing abhishek is believed to remove obstacles and bring clarity and success. Families arrange it before new ventures, on Sankashti Chaturthi and during Ganeshotsav.
When it is performed
Sankashti and Vinayaka Chaturthi, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Ganesh Chaturthi and the beginning of a new venture are especially auspicious.
What the ceremony involves
After Ganesh puja and a sankalp, the pandits chant the Atharvashirsha a chosen number of times (21, 108 or 1,000 as a sahasravartan) while the idol is bathed in water, milk and panchamrit. Durva, modak and red flowers are offered, and the puja ends with aarti.
Formats and languages
Ganpati Atharvashirsha Path & Abhishek can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Every ceremony is offered as an act of devotion. Results in health, wealth, relationships or legal matters cannot be promised, and professional advice should always be sought where it is needed.
