Why devotees choose Gand Mool Nakshatra Shanti
In Jyotish, Ashwini, Ashlesha, Magha, Jyeshtha, Mool and Revati are called gand mool nakshatras because they lie at the junctions between signs. North Indian tradition recommends a shanti for a child born under them, with prayers for the child's wellbeing and the family's harmony.
When it is performed
It is traditionally performed on the twenty-seventh day after birth, when the moon returns to the same nakshatra, or on a later recurrence advised by the pandit.
What the ceremony involves
The pandit performs Ganesh puja and kalash sthapana, worships the deity of the birth nakshatra, and conducts a havan with the nakshatra mantras. In many families the father first sees the baby's face reflected in oil, and the shanti ends with the sprinkling of sanctified water and charity.
Formats and languages
Gand Mool Nakshatra Shanti can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Every ceremony is offered as an act of devotion. Results in health, wealth, relationships or legal matters cannot be promised, and professional advice should always be sought where it is needed.
