Why devotees choose Durga Saptashati Parayana
The Devi Mahatmyam, also called the Chandi Path or Durga Saptashati, recounts the goddess's victories over the forces of ignorance and arrogance. In Karnataka, where Mysuru's Dasara celebrates the goddess Chamundeshwari, the parayana is especially loved during Navaratri and on Fridays, for strength, protection and devotion.
When it is performed
Navaratri, Fridays, Ashtami and full-moon days are the most popular.
What the ceremony involves
After a sankalpa, the priests recite the Devi Kavacha, Argala and Keelaka, the thirteen chapters and the concluding stotras. The parayana ends with kumkumarchane and mangalarati, and it can be followed by a Chandi homa.
Formats and languages
Durga Saptashati Parayana can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Kannada tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Send an enquiry with your city, preferred dates and language. A coordinator confirms a suitable priest, the muhurta, the samagri list, what is included and the final price. You approve the plan before any payment is requested.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
