Why devotees choose Durga Deepa Namaskara
In coastal Karnataka, Durga Deepa Namaskara honours the Divine Mother by lighting many lamps and offering a namaskara with each one, accompanied by Durga mantras. Families perform it for the goddess's protection and blessings, and for the welfare of the household.
When it is performed
Navaratri, Fridays, Tuesdays and auspicious family occasions are popular, and it is usually performed in the evening.
What the ceremony involves
A sacred mandala is drawn, Goddess Durga is invoked, and many lamps are arranged and lit. The priest chants Durga mantras and the Lalitha Sahasranama while namaskaras are offered with each lamp, followed by naivedya and mangalarati.
Formats and languages
Durga Deepa Namaskara can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Kannada tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Send an enquiry with your city, preferred dates and language. A coordinator confirms a suitable priest, the muhurta, the samagri list, what is included and the final price. You approve the plan before any payment is requested.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Every ceremony is offered as an act of devotion. Results in health, wealth, relationships or legal matters cannot be promised, and professional advice should always be sought where it is needed.
