Why devotees choose Ayudha Pooja
Ayudha Pooja expresses gratitude for the instruments that sustain our work and lives. It is associated with Goddess Durga's victory and with the Pandavas retrieving their weapons. Factories, shops, offices and households clean and decorate their tools, vehicles and books, and offer them for blessing.
When it is performed
It is celebrated on Mahanavami, the ninth day of Navaratri, usually in September or October. Vijayadashami, the day after, is the auspicious day to resume work.
What the ceremony involves
Tools, vehicles, computers and books are cleaned and decorated with turmeric, kumkum and flowers. The priest performs Ganapathi pooja, Saraswati and Durga pooja and a sankalpa for the household or business, followed by aarti. A pumpkin is often broken in front of vehicles to ward off drishti.
Formats and languages
Ayudha Pooja can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Kannada, Tamil and Telugu traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Send an enquiry with your city, preferred dates and language. A coordinator confirms a suitable priest, the muhurta, the samagri list, what is included and the final price. You approve the plan before any payment is requested.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
