Why devotees choose Annaprashan Puja
Annaprashan is one of the sixteen sanskars and marks the baby's first solid food. In North Indian and Marathi families the first spoonful of kheer is often fed by the maternal uncle or grandparents. It is a joyful day of thanksgiving for the baby's growth and of prayer for a healthy, nourished life.
When it is performed
It is usually held in the sixth or seventh month, with even months often chosen for boys and odd months for girls, on a muhurat set from the baby's nakshatra.
What the ceremony involves
The pandit performs Ganesh puja, Navgraha puja and a sankalp in the baby's name, followed by a short havan. Kheer prepared at home is offered to the deity and then fed to the baby, and in many families the child picks from a tray of objects such as a book, pen, coin and jewellery, a fun moment for everyone.
Formats and languages
Annaprashan Puja can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi and Marathi traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Every ceremony is offered as an act of devotion. Results in health, wealth, relationships or legal matters cannot be promised, and professional advice should always be sought where it is needed.
