Why devotees choose Surya Japa
Surya represents the soul, vitality, leadership and one's father. Kannada families arrange Surya Japa during Surya dasha, when the Sun is weak in the chart, or when confidence and recognition at work are a concern. The Aditya Hridaya, taught to Lord Rama by sage Agastya, is often recited alongside.
When it is performed
It is usually started on a Sunday at sunrise, on Ratha Saptami or during Surya dasha, as advised.
What the ceremony involves
Priests chant the Surya mantra a prescribed number of times, followed by a homa with arka samidh. Wheat, jaggery and a red cloth are traditional dana items.
Formats and languages
Surya Japa can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Kannada tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Every ceremony is offered as an act of devotion. Results in health, wealth, relationships or legal matters cannot be promised, and professional advice should always be sought where it is needed.
