Why devotees choose Shukra Japa
Shukra, the teacher of the asuras, governs love, marriage, beauty, art, music and comforts. Kannada families arrange Shukra Japa during Shukra dasha, when Venus is afflicted, or when marriage and creative pursuits are a focus. Goddess Lakshmi is often worshipped alongside on Fridays.
When it is performed
It is usually started on a Friday or during Shukra dasha, as advised by the astrologer.
What the ceremony involves
Priests chant the Shukra mantra a prescribed number of times, followed by a homa with udumbara samidh. White field beans, rice and a white cloth are traditional dana items.
Formats and languages
Shukra Japa can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Kannada tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Send an enquiry with your city, preferred dates and language. A coordinator confirms a suitable priest, the muhurta, the samagri list, what is included and the final price. You approve the plan before any payment is requested.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
