Why devotees choose Shani Japa
Shani rewards patience, honesty and hard work, and his periods, such as Sade Sati, Ashtama Shani and Shani dasha, are traditionally seen as times of testing and growth. Kannada families arrange Shani Japa for resilience and Shani's favour, and often pray to Lord Hanuman on Saturdays as well.
When it is performed
It is usually started on a Saturday, on Shani Trayodashi, or at the start of Sade Sati or Shani dasha, as the astrologer advises.
What the ceremony involves
Priests chant the Shani mantra a prescribed number of times, followed by a homa with shami samidh and black sesame. Sesame oil, black sesame and a black cloth are traditional dana items.
Formats and languages
Shani Japa can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Kannada tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
