Why devotees choose Rudra Homam
Sri Rudram, with its Namakam and Chamakam, is one of the oldest and most revered Vedic hymns to Lord Shiva. In Rudra Homam it is chanted with offerings into the sacred fire. Devotees perform it to seek peace of mind, protection, the removal of negativity and Shiva's grace for the whole family.
When it is performed
Mondays, Pradosham, the month of Kartika, Shravana Mondays and Maha Shivaratri are especially auspicious. It is also performed on birthdays and anniversaries.
What the ceremony involves
After Ganapati pooja, kalasha sthapana and a sankalpa, priests chant Sri Rudram (once, eleven times as Ekadasha Rudram, or more) with offerings of ghee and samidh. Purnahuti is followed by abhishekam of the Shiva linga or kalasha and aarti.
Formats and languages
Rudra Homam can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Send an enquiry with your city, preferred dates and language. A coordinator confirms a suitable priest, the muhurta, the samagri list, what is included and the final price. You approve the plan before any payment is requested.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
