The Sudarshana Chakra symbolises Vishnu's power to destroy darkness and protect the righteous. When it is performed

It is commonly performed with a housewarming, on Ekadashi or Saturdays, or whenever the family priest recommends it.

What the ceremony involves

After Ganapathi pooja and a sankalpa, the priest invokes Sudarshana and chants the Sudarshana maha mantra and Sudarshana Ashtakam with offerings of ghee and samidh. The sanctified water is sprinkled through the home, and a protective thread may be tied.

Formats and languages

Sudarshana Homa can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi, Kannada and Marathi traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.

Can this pooja be done online?

For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.

Is samagri included?

The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
