Why devotees choose Rahu Japa
Rahu is associated with ambition, illusion, foreign connections and unexpected events. During Rahu dasha or when Rahu afflicts the chart, Kannada families arrange Rahu Japa for clarity, steadiness and protection from confusion. Goddess Durga is often worshipped alongside.
When it is performed
It is usually performed on a Saturday, during Rahu kala, or at the start of Rahu dasha, as advised.
What the ceremony involves
Priests chant the Rahu mantra a prescribed number of times, followed by a homa with durva grass. Black gram (urad) and a dark blue cloth are traditional dana items.
Formats and languages
Rahu Japa can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Kannada tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Tell us the occasion, location and dates that suit your family. We match a priest who follows your tradition, confirm timings and materials, and send a written plan with the final price. You decide only when everything is clear.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
