The Purusha Suktam (Rigveda 10.90) describes the cosmic Purusha from whom all creation arises and is central to Vishnu worship. Telugu families perform this homam for the family's overall wellbeing, as a prayer for children, and for spiritual merit. It is also a part of many larger Vaishnava rituals.

What the ceremony involves

After Vishvaksena pooja and a sankalpa, priests chant the sixteen verses of the Purusha Suktam repeatedly, offering ghee and payasam into the fire with each recitation. Purnahuti, aarti and Vishnu Sahasranama recitation conclude the homam.

Can this pooja be done online?

For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.

Is samagri included?

The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
