Why devotees choose Pratyangira Homam
Goddess Pratyangira, a fierce manifestation of the Divine Mother, is invoked to reverse negative influences and protect devotees. In Telugu and Kannada families the homam is performed when facing persistent obstacles, fear or hostility, with complete faith in the goddess's protection.
When it is performed
Amavasya, Ashtami, Tuesdays and Sundays are considered most auspicious, and many temples hold Pratyangira homam on new-moon nights.
What the ceremony involves
After Ganapathi pooja and a sankalpa, the priest invokes Pratyangira Devi and chants her mantras with offerings of ghee and prescribed materials, which in some traditions include dried red chillies. Purnahuti, aarti and kumkum prasad conclude the ritual.
Formats and languages
Pratyangira Homam can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Kannada and Telugu traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Send an enquiry with your city, preferred dates and language. A coordinator confirms a suitable priest, the muhurta, the samagri list, what is included and the final price. You approve the plan before any payment is requested.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
