Why devotees choose Mrityunjaya Japam
The Maha Mrityunjaya mantra is among the most revered prayers in the Vedas, addressed to Lord Shiva as Tryambaka. In a japam it is chanted many thousands of times, often over several days, in a sankalpa for the longevity and wellbeing of a loved one. Telugu families arrange it for elders and during periods of illness, alongside medical care.
When it is performed
Mondays, Pradosham, Masa Shivaratri and the janma nakshatram of the person are popular, and it can be started at any time of need.
What the ceremony involves
After a sankalpa naming the person, a team of priests chants the mantra to the agreed count, which may be 11,000, 51,000, 1,25,000 or another number, over one or more days. A homam with one-tenth of the count and abhishekam usually follow.
Formats and languages
Mrityunjaya Japam can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Telugu tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
