Maha Sudarshana Homam

Why devotees choose Maha Sudarshana Homam

Sudarshana, meaning "auspicious vision," is the discus of Lord Vishnu that destroys darkness and protects devotees. Telugu families perform Maha Sudarshana Homam during gruhapravesam, after illness or misfortune, before major undertakings, and to purify the atmosphere of a home or business.

When it is performed

It is often combined with gruhapravesam and performed on Ekadashi, Saturdays and Chitta nakshatram, or whenever the family feels the need for protection.

What the ceremony involves

After Vishvaksena pooja and a sankalpa, the priest invokes Sudarshana and Narasimha and chants the Sudarshana maha mantra with offerings of ghee and samidh. Purnahuti is followed by the sprinkling of sanctified water through the home and the tying of protective threads.

Formats and languages

Maha Sudarshana Homam can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Telugu tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.

How booking works

Tell us the occasion, location and dates that suit your family. We match a priest who follows your tradition, confirm timings and materials, and send a written plan with the final price. You decide only when everything is clear.

Questions families ask

Can this pooja be done online?

For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.

Is samagri included?

The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.

A note on faith and expectations

Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
