Why devotees choose Janmashtami Puja
Janmashtami celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna in Mathura at midnight. Devotees fast through the day, decorate a jhula (cradle) for Laddu Gopal and welcome the Lord with abhishek, bhog and bhajans at the moment of his birth. In Maharashtra the next day is celebrated with Dahi Handi.
When it is performed
It falls on Bhadrapada Krishna Ashtami, usually in August or September, with the main puja at nishita kaal (midnight).
What the ceremony involves
The pandit guides the sankalp and the puja of Laddu Gopal, the abhishek with milk, curd, ghee, honey and Gangajal at midnight, new clothes and shringar, the placing in the jhula, and offerings of makhan-mishri, panjiri and other bhog. Bhajans and aarti celebrate the birth.
Formats and languages
Janmashtami Puja can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi and Marathi traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Every ceremony is offered as an act of devotion. Results in health, wealth, relationships or legal matters cannot be promised, and professional advice should always be sought where it is needed.
