Why devotees choose Dussehra Puja
Dussehra marks Lord Ram's victory over Ravan and Maa Durga's victory over Mahishasur. Families worship Goddess Aparajita for victory in righteous endeavours and the Shami tree, from which the Pandavas recovered their weapons, and they worship tools and vehicles. It is considered one of the most auspicious days to begin new ventures.
When it is performed
It falls on Ashwin Shukla Dashami, the day after Navratri, usually in September or October, and the puja is done during the auspicious Vijay muhurat.
What the ceremony involves
The pandit guides Aparajita puja, Shami puja and shastra puja for weapons, tools, vehicles and books. In many families, Shami leaves are exchanged as "gold", and the evening continues with Ravan dahan celebrations.
Formats and languages
Dussehra Puja can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
