Why devotees choose Jagran Puja
A jagran (vigil) is a night of devotional singing in honour of Maa Durga, especially Mata Vaishno Devi. Families host jagrans to give thanks for blessings, to fulfil a vow (mannat), and at housewarmings, weddings and birthdays. The music and devotion create unforgettable memories.
When it is performed
It is held overnight, often from late evening until dawn, during Navratri, after a wish is fulfilled, or on family occasions.
What the ceremony involves
The evening begins with Ganesh puja and the lighting of the akhand jyot in front of the Mata's image. A bhajan mandali sings throughout the night, the Tara Rani katha is narrated, and the jagran concludes at dawn with aarti, bhog and prasad.
Formats and languages
Jagran Puja can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
