Why devotees choose Hayagreeva Homam
Lord Hayagreeva, the horse-headed avatar of Vishnu, restored the Vedas to Brahma and is worshipped as the embodiment of knowledge. Students, teachers and professionals perform this homam to pray for focus, memory and clarity in learning, alongside their own hard work.
When it is performed
Thursdays, Shravana nakshatra, Hayagreeva Jayanti and the weeks before examinations or the start of an academic year are popular choices.
What the ceremony involves
The priest performs Ganapati pooja and a sankalpa in the student's name, invokes Lord Hayagreeva and chants his moola mantra and stotras while offering ghee and samidh into the fire. Pens and books may be placed before the deity for blessing, and the homam ends with purnahuti and aarti.
Formats and languages
Hayagreeva Homam can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Tamil and Telugu traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Send an enquiry with your city, preferred dates and language. A coordinator confirms a suitable priest, the muhurta, the samagri list, what is included and the final price. You approve the plan before any payment is requested.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
