Durga Homam

Why devotees choose Durga Homam

Goddess Durga is the invincible form of the Divine Mother who protects the world from darkness. Devotees perform Durga Homam when facing difficult times, before important undertakings and during Navaratri, seeking her protection for the family and the inner strength to face challenges.

When it is performed

Navaratri, Durgashtami, Fridays and Tuesdays, Ashtami and Navami tithis, and full-moon days are considered most auspicious.

What the ceremony involves

After Ganapathi pooja and a sankalpa, the priest invokes Durga in a kalasha and chants the Durga Suktam, Durga Saptashloki and her moola mantra with offerings of ghee, red flowers and sacred materials. Purnahuti, aarti and kumkum prasad complete the homam.

Formats and languages

Durga Homam can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Kannada and Telugu traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.

How booking works

Tell us the occasion, location and dates that suit your family. We match a priest who follows your tradition, confirm timings and materials, and send a written plan with the final price. You decide only when everything is clear.

Questions families ask

Can this pooja be done online?

For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.

Is samagri included?

The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.

A note on faith and expectations

Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
