Diwali Lakshmi Puja

Why devotees choose Diwali Lakshmi Puja

On Diwali night, Goddess Lakshmi is believed to visit homes that are clean, bright and welcoming. Families and business owners perform Lakshmi-Ganesh puja to invite prosperity and wisdom into the year ahead, and traders begin new account books (bahi-khata) with prayers. Doing it correctly at the right muhurat is a cherished tradition.

When it is performed

It falls on Kartik Amavasya, usually in October or November, and the puja is performed during pradosh kaal, ideally in a sthir lagna such as Vrishabh.

What the ceremony involves

The pandit performs kalash sthapana, Ganesh puja, Lakshmi puja with Shri Suktam, Kuber puja and Saraswati puja on the account books, pens and computers. Diyas are lit throughout the home, sweets and kheel-batashe are offered, and the puja ends with Lakshmi aarti.

Formats and languages

Diwali Lakshmi Puja can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Hindi and Marathi traditions can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.

How booking works

Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.

Questions families ask

Can this pooja be done online?

For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.

Is samagri included?

The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.

A note on faith and expectations

Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
