Why devotees choose Ashlesha Bali Homa
In Karnataka, especially at Kukke Subramanya, Ashlesha Bali is one of the most important rituals for Sarpa dosha, a condition believed to arise from harm done to serpents in this or past lives, or from serpent-related afflictions in the horoscope. Devotees perform it to seek forgiveness and the blessings of Lord Subramanya and the Nagas.
When it is performed
It is performed on Ashlesha nakshatra, which recurs every month, with Shravana and Kartika months and Naga Panchami being especially significant.
What the ceremony involves
After Ganapathi pooja and a sankalpa, the priests worship the Naga devatas and Lord Subramanya, perform the homa with the prescribed mantras, and offer bali (offerings) to the serpent deities. The family receives prasad, and many devotees combine it with a temple darshan.
Formats and languages
Ashlesha Bali Homa can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Kannada tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Send an enquiry with your city, preferred dates and language. A coordinator confirms a suitable priest, the muhurta, the samagri list, what is included and the final price. You approve the plan before any payment is requested.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
