Why devotees choose Anagha Vratham
Lord Dattatreya, the combined form of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, is worshipped with Anagha Devi as Anagha Swami. The vratham is observed for purification, family harmony and progress on the spiritual path. It has grown especially popular among Datta devotees in the Telugu states.
When it is performed
It is traditionally observed on Margashirsha Krishna Ashtami, and many devotees also observe it monthly on Krishna Ashtami.
What the ceremony involves
Images of Anagha Swami and Anagha Devi are installed, along with their eight sons (the Ashta Siddhis) where the tradition includes them. The priest guides the sankalpa, shodashopachara pooja and vratha katha, a sacred thread is tied, and the vratham ends with aarti and prasad.
Formats and languages
Anagha Vratham can be arranged at your home, or online with live participation where the ritual allows it. Priests who follow the Telugu tradition can be requested, and the chanting language and regional procedure are confirmed before the date is fixed.
How booking works
Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.
Questions families ask
Can this pooja be done online?
For many poojas, homams and paths, yes: the priest performs the ritual with your sankalpa (names, gotra and intention) while you join by video. Ceremonies that need the family present, such as a housewarming, wedding or samskara, are held in person, and relatives who live elsewhere can join by video.
Is samagri included?
The written plan lists every item the priest brings and anything your family needs to arrange, so there are no surprises on the day.
A note on faith and expectations
Pooja and homam are practised for devotion, gratitude and inner steadiness. They do not replace qualified professional advice, and no outcome is promised.
