Why devotees choose Kumbhabhishekam
According to the Agama shastras, a temple is reconsecrated through Kumbhabhishekam after construction or renovation, traditionally about every twelve years. The ceremony re-energises the deity and the temple and is a major event for the community. Our role is to help temple committees and sponsors coordinate experienced priests.
When it is performed
The date is fixed from the panchangam and the temple's tradition after renovation work is complete. The yagasalai rites usually run over several days before the main day.
What to expect
The ceremony typically includes the setting up of the yagasalai, several kalams of homams, the installation of the deities in kumbhas, and on the main day the pouring of sanctified water over the vimanam and gopuram kalasams, followed by abhishekam of the deities. Scope, priests and logistics are planned with the temple committee.
Planning your visit
The temple is chosen with you during planning, based on the ritual and your preference. The local priest, the schedule, any travel and remote participation are then confirmed in writing.
How booking works
Planning starts with a short enquiry. Our team checks priest availability for your tradition and language, proposes a muhurta, shares a clear list of inclusions and samagri, and confirms the total. Nothing is booked or charged until you agree.
Questions families ask
Can I take part if I cannot travel?
Remote participation, including sankalpa in your family's names, live viewing and prasad delivery, depends on the venue and the ritual. It is confirmed for your specific booking.
What is included in the price?
You receive a written plan that lists the ritual, priest dakshina, materials, donations, travel and stay where relevant, so the final price is clear before you confirm.
A note on faith and expectations
Rituals are an expression of faith and family tradition. They are not a substitute for medical, legal or financial advice, and no spiritual service can promise a particular result.
