2 Mukhi Rudraksha — Natural Loose Bead

A 2 Mukhi Rudraksha has two natural lines dividing the seed into two halves. Genuine beads are relatively uncommon, and Indonesian and Nepalese beads differ in size and appearance. Each bead is unique, with natural variations in shape and surface.

Tradition and meaning

Tradition associates the 2 Mukhi bead with Ardhanarishvara, the form of Shiva who is half Parvati, symbolising unity and harmony. In modern Jyotish practice it is linked with Chandra (the Moon). Devotees wear it as a symbol of harmony in relationships and inner balance.

How to choose

Check that the two faces are natural and continuous, and that the bead is not carved, cracked or filled. Confirm the origin, size and weight, and ask for an X-ray or laboratory certificate.

Care

Keep it away from soap and chemicals, brush it gently and oil it lightly from time to time. Store it in a clean cloth when not in use.
